Breaking out of the mold of a “little rich girl” was hard for a lot of people who grew up the way Alyssa did; but somehow that wasn’t the case for the youngest member of the Prince family. Alyssa was somewhat on the shy side and always congenial toward those around her. It didn’t matter what class or status someone came from they were always on the same playing field to her. The best words to describe Alyssa, besides somewhat shy are friendly, congenial, determined (when it comes to work) and over-all nice. She doesn’t really have a mean bone in her body which ends up getting her walked all over at times.

FAMILY HISTORY: When the Prince and O'Shea families joined together in the early 1980’s there were only two people who weren’t truly happy with this decision. It wasn’t the bride, nor was it the groom; they were very much in love, but the mothers of both the bride and the groom sat in the small church in Scarsdale, New York biting their tongues. As little girls Francesca O'Shea (nee Colombo) and Violet Prince (nee LeVesque) never enjoyed the pleasure of the other’s company. They were rivals from elementary school until they left for college. However, it was just their luck that each of them would end up marrying best friends from a different high school. Michael Prince and Declan O'Shea were the best friends and when their children, Andrew and Lynette (respectively) tied the knot on that spring day they couldn’t have been happier. It wasn’t even a year later that Lynette gave birth to her first and only son, Christopher in the spring of 1983. Two years later in August of 1985 Alyssa, their second and final child, graced the Prince family. The Prince family was an old money political family but Andrew, however, didn’t follow in the footsteps of his grandfather, father and even older brothers before him. Andrew became a cardiologist. Lynette ended up studying psychology and works as a school psychologist at Alyssa’s former high school; Edgemont.

Born on the nineteenth of August, 1985; Alyssa Violet Prince entered the world like any other bouncing baby girl. A slap on her bottom and a wail of a yelp; all ten fingers and all ten toes with several eyes peering over her only moments after she was given in a little pink blanket to her mother to hold. With tears in her mother's eyes, an "I'm a big brother" t-shirt on her two year old brother, Christopher, and a proud grin on her father's face Alyssa was welcomed into the Prince home with open and loving arms. At her birth the lifelong feud between her grandmothers even halted for long enough for her to be named. With Violet being chosen as her middle name and Francesca being left out in the cold the feud between the dueling grandmothers ended up growing; however for the sake of their children and grandchildren it was left to brood between the two older women.

There wasn't much different in Alyssa's world than that of any other little girl growing up in Scarsdale, New York. She grew up in a big house with a long driveway; the property gated off so no trespassers could enter without having to climb a point topped steel fence. With a Catholic school upbringing until she completed the eighth grade the only difference between Alyssa and any of her neighbors was where she attended high school. Where most of the children in her neighborhood ended up at either Scarsdale High School or one of the Catholic schools in the surrounding towns, Alyssa ended up attending Edgemont High where her mother was the school psychologist. Little did most people know that this was Alyssa's choice; she didn't want to go to an all girl's school and the intimacy of the smaller high school appealed to her over Scarsdale. A Panther at heart from the moment she set foot into the school as a little girl on Take Your Daughter to Work Day; that was Alyssa.

Through all four years of high school Alyssa wore the Panthers colors, Blue, White and Gold, proudly. She was a member of the school band, cheerleading team and track and field teams. Her life as she knew it was good. Along side Alyssa from her start at Edgemont High School was her boyfriend, Luke. He had played a small role in why Alyssa chose Edgemont to attend high school but her parents never thought anything of it. The first day of kindergarten he shared her crayons. The first day of fourth grade he helped her to the nurse when she skinned her knee in gym class. And the first day of seventh grade he was the boy who leaned in during class to whisper in her ear asking her to be his girlfriend. Alyssa and Luke were inseparable; starting as best friends and ending in a devastating loss toward the end of their junior year when Luke was killed in a car accident.

The rest of high school came and went. Alyssa attended grief counseling and private therapy but once she chose to attend the University of North Carolina that all stopped. Cheerleading was her therapy there, as were the various other activities she participated in to keep herself busy. All four years went by quickly, as did the two years of graduate school to follow at New York University. Now, Alyssa can be found living in and working as an elementary school teacher in Dobbs Ferry. Aside from teaching the first grade she is also coaching the high school cheerleading team.

••• Participated in cheerleading and track & field in high school. In college she continued cheerleading but aside from that she did various other sports when she was younger (soccer, softball, basketball).

••• Has only had one relationship that lasted more than a year, her high school boyfriend Luke was killed in a car accident the night before the Junior Prom.
••• Received an ample scholarship to the University of North Carolina.
••• Double majored in Elementary Education and Photography in college. Photography it is her favorite hobby.
••• Went to graduate school at NYU and worked as a head nursery school teacher during the day.
••• Has always wanted to be a vegetarian, but fails horribly at not eating meat.

••• Has a thirst for knowledge, general knowledge, trivia, anything really. She loves going to historical landmarks and national parks.

••• Drives a 2003 Volkswagen Jetta; silver. It was a graduation present from high school.
••• Earned the Gold Award in Girl Scouting.
••• So far, she has never met a set of parents that didn't like her. Friends, boyfriends, any of them. They seem drawn to her innocent girl next door self.
••• Will sit for any photographer. She doesn't even need to be paid for it. When taking photography herself she had a hard time finding models for certain things so she will sit for pretty much anyone, for pretty much anything. However she will not do nudes since she is an educator, if she wasn't, she might consider it.
••• Loves spending time outdoors. One of her favorite places is Central Park but she doesn't get to go there as often as she likes. She also enjoys reading at the base of the Kensico Dam in Valhalla.
